Truss - User Experience Designer 3

June 2022 to Present

• Collaborated closely with designers, product managers, and engineers across multiple teams to develop two applications with the goal of supporting moves for over 430,000 military personnel and the office users who process those moves.

• Established and led a cross-functional group towards adding incremental improvements to the project’s accessibility practices.

Amida - User Experience Designer

November 2018 to June 2022

• Partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs to deliver a suite of products that help over 600,000 Veterans learn about and resolve their debt with VA.

• Moderated dozens of usability sessions with an emphasis on inclusive recruiting to validate that design decisions were intuitive and accessible.     

• Presented multiple iterations of wireflows to stakeholders to ensure designs align with both user and business needs. 

• Facilitated team-wide ideation workshops to promote collaboration among designers and developers. 

• Worked with content writers and accessibility specialists to guarantee that the UI followed both plain language and Section 508 compliance standards.
